In the morning, the students did an art / geometry crossover activity in which they constructed cute penguins from a variety of basic shapes. Students used the Montessori shape inlets to trace their shapes before cutting them out and gluing them together. They turned out really well! Not necessarily as well as the example penguins, but that's what makes them unique.
In Gymnastics, the students did partner balances, and that was a lot of fun. When we got back to the class, we read the book "How Droofus the Dragon Lost His Head", and the students drew pictures to show what happened at the beginning, middle, and end of the book. We talked about how the 'beginning' of a story is much more than just the first page, and the end is more than the last.
In the afternoon, we had Daily 5, Music, recess, and Work Period, and that was the day!
Have a good night, Zac
