Hi parents,
We had a good day today! And to answer the burning question on everyone's mind: yes it will be a pajama day on Friday. The student's did a great job with the lockdown all around. The police officer said he had no idea that we had been hiding there because we'd been so quiet. What I was most impressed by was the number of students who really rose to the challenge and helped guide their peers to make good choices throughout the entire grueling 20 minutes.
In the morning today, the students wrote about what they wanted to be when they grew up. It was interesting to see how most of the Grade 2 students have drastically changed their life goals since last year.
We did a lot of math this morning too. I have officially given addition lessons to all of the Grade 1 students, and tomorrow I'll be able to work in small groups with the grade 2's. All around, the students seem to be catching on to addition much more quickly than they did with subtraction. Keep up the great work at home!
In the afternoon, we had our lockdown, and we had music, and then I introduced the students to some new literacy games that will be available as part of Daily 5.
Volunteers Needed for Book Fair!
We are still in need of volunteers for our upcoming book fair.
We are pleased to be offering a book fair again this year over Parent Teacher Conferences. We are looking for parent volunteers who would be interested in helping set up the book fair, as well as some parents to help with the book fair while it is running.
If you are able to volunteer during any of the time slots below we would greatly appreciate it! Please email Pam Green with the time and day you are available to help at pngreen@cbe.ab.ca.
