Tuesday, February 4

 Hi parents,

We had a great day today! Sorry about the lack of blog yesterday.

This morning, we did 'Spelling Sentences', with a twist. Each sentence the students wrote had to be longer than the previous sentence. So if the first one was 4 words, the next would have to be at least 5, and then 6, and so on. So the sentences inevitably became more complex. I think it was a great way to practice writing sentences of varying length.

In math, we did a 'art school' inspired lesson where students created sketchbook pages to display all of the geometry terms we've recently learned.  There are a lot!

In the afternoon, we learned more about the history of Alberta. We watched a short series called "Alberta: The Stories that Made Us". The students used loose parts to construct representations of an event or two of their choice from Alberta's history. I was really impressed by the teamwork and cooperation - there wasn't a single disagreement and everyone was actively involved. See if you can figure out what's happening in each scene!

Please send back your Hitmen Field Trip Forms if you have not already done so!

Have a nice night,

Zac
