Hi parents,
We had another pretty good day today. In the morning, we had some practice using the "Stamp Game" to represent numbers, this time up to 2000! The Stamp Game is a Montessori material that features little wooden squares (not actual stamps) that represent ones, tens, hundreds, and thousands. It is not a very fun game but it is an awesome tool for solving math problems.
We talked about 'exclamation marks' in writing, and the students wrote sentences to correspond with the phrases "Oh no!", "Yikes", "Hooray!", and "Wow!". I'm hoping we can expand on this concept more tomorrow to write some short, but exciting, stories.
We practiced spelling, did some Buddy Reading, and watched a special virtual presentation from CBE Superintendent Christopher Usih. He read a story aloud and talked about literacy, language, and stories.
We ended our day with Music class.
Have a nice evening,
Zac
