Friday

Hi parents,

We had a bit of a rough day today, mostly because the energy level was unusually high! Good thing we didn't have cupcakes today.

In the morning, the students had work period instead of explore and play, so that they could finish up the work they started earlier in the week. We had our spelling quiz, had snack, and went to Gym. After Gym, we did Daily 5, and an Art Activity involving drawing backgrounds, foregrounds, and baby Yoda. 

I know what you're thinking - that sounds like a pretty productive day! For many students it was - unfortunately, the noise level was incredibly high throughout the entire morning, so we ended up losing Explore and Play, and instead, the students wrote sentences for their spelling words. :(

We had a good discussion at the end of the day about how we can improve for next week. I talked to the students about how I'd like to see them try to politely help their peers adjust their behaviour rather than just telling on them!
