Thursday

Hi parents,
We had a pretty good day today, but it was a little bit loud. Throughout most of the morning, the students worked on  a Remembrance Day art project, where they painted and assembled soldiers using card stock paper. I was really impressed by how mature the students were while putting together their crafts - I think they understood that this craft was not the time for silliness, and even though they were creating soldiers, they didn't use it as an excuse to include guns or anything like that. Although there was one soldier carrying a minecraft pickaxe.
In the afternoon, we did a lot of math work. I've been splitting the students into their math groups, and working individually with all of them to ensure that they've got a solid understanding of subtraction - and they do! Although there are many different ability levels in our classroom, I've seen that every student has made significant growth in their ability to solve subtraction problems, and that is fantastic to see.
Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to practice basic facts at home - it makes a huge difference! Even just counting to 20 and writing down each number is incredibly helpful.
Class Picture Retake Day! TUESDAY, NOV. 12
For some reason our class pictures need to be taken over again. We will be taking another class photo on Tuesday, Nov. 12.
Have a great night,
Zac
