Hi parents,
We had a great day back at school today. We went over the new spelling words and continued working on our Wayside School Stories. Some students even started typing their stories on Microsoft Word, which they were pretty excited about.
We kept working through multi-digit addition problems with regrouping. We've mostly finished with the Stamp Game lessons because the class seems to have a solid understanding of regrouping now, solid enough to solve problems with just a pencil and paper.
In the afternoon, we spent 20 minutes outside, doing a full-school sit spot. It was really peaceful and a valuable lesson on how just sitting in nature can actually be pretty fun.
We started reading a new book - "Trapped in Transylvania", which is a funny, kid-friendly version of the needlessly long classic, Bram Stoker's "Dracula". It's not scary but it should be a great October read. Wayside School did set the bar pretty high though so hopefully it'll live up to the class' expectations.
Have a nice night,
Zac
