Wednesday, March 2

 Hi parents,

We had a great day today.

In the morning, we had Work Period and Guest Reader, where we learned about Tennis champion and activist Billie Jean King.

We started to work on a big math problem known as "The Shopping Spree".

It's a multi-step ordeal, in which the students browse flyers, round prices up/down, create a 'running total', and aim to spend exactly $100 of fictional money, all while recording their calculations and cutting and gluing items fro the flyer. It's going to take a few more days I think, but we got off to a great start today.

In the afternoon, we read The Secrets of Droon and had an awesome discussion about the character "Demither". She's one of those mysterious characters where you can't tell if they're good or bad. In Room 4, we love those types of characters, because they make for great persuasive writing prompts!

We did Daily LA and ended our day with more work on the math project.

Class Picture Day is on Tuesday, March 15!

I'm so happy that we get to take an official class picture this year.

Have a nice night,

Zac
