Thursday, March 13

 Hi parents,

We had a fun day today. In the morning, the students had a 2-hour long work period, where they worked on spelling, writing, morning math, and everyone's favourite, building a leprechaun trap. Here are a few works in progress:

In math, we learned how to use the Division Bead Board material. This material is basically the same as the Multiplication Bead Board, but the process of using it is slightly different, as students must start with a given quantity and divide it equally. The familiarity is a good thing though, as it helps students build connections between multiplication and division.

In the afternoon, we spend time reading quietly for our novel study project. Students who wish to take their books home for extra reading are welcome to do that, but please remind them to fill out their tracking sheet - this sheet helps ensure they're comprehending what they're reading, and also records important information about events in the book, which may otherwise be hard for students to recall!

We also had Music and Social Emotional Learning with Mr. Ripka.

Tomorrow is World Sleep Day, and so our school is having a Pajama Day! We are also having a spelling quiz, so hopefully everyone rests up.

Have a nice night,

Zac
